As guests (manuhiri) you will be asked to sing two waiatas (songs) as part of the Mihi Whaktua, we’ve tried to pick some songs that hopefully many of you will know . Please take some time to familiarise yourself with these. We will have the song lyrics on powerpoint and a guitarist to play backing music for you on the day.

Matt Chamberlin & Gordon Fitch Matt and Gordon head up Presbyterian Youth Ministry, each with over a decade of youth ministry experience in very different settings. This year they will share their vision and values for PYM and communicate their strategy for serving and supporting local church youth ministry.

Zane Scarborough (The Parenting Place) has a background in community volunteering and youth work, and experience leading youth groups and coaching basketball teams. He incorporates his understanding of young people into well-researched presentations delivered with humour, not only captivating youth but a whole spectrum of audiences. Zane enjoys his bicultural experiences, relates to many cultures and enjoys providing another perspective.

Zane and his wife Chloe are proud parents of Paora and Hinewai. Parenthood has expanded Zane’s repertoire of wonderful stories, and given him a hands-on understanding of the important role of parenting.

Saturday 19:30 Keynote

Jo Kisona Jo Kisona has been working with young people and their whanau for over 20 years. She spends her days managing a secure residence for 20 young people, and co-heads her local youth and young adults ministry at PIC Porirua. Seeing a young person as an extension of a groups mauri (life essence) has motivated her to work very intentionally with a young person’s whanau.
Tama & Miriam Bucknell – Epic Ministries Tama and Miriam have been living and working in sunny central Hawkes Bay for the last 15 years. Tama heads up Epic Ministries Waipukurau which, by delivering consistent, quality youth work over the past decade, has become a household name in their community. Miriam is a guidance counsellor at the local high school. Both are passionate about youth work and have loads of experience and wisdom to share.

Nigel Pollock Nigel, an energetic Scotsman, is National Director of TSCF New Zealand and is based in Wellington. Nigel has a passion for relating faith to culture, applying the Bible to the whole of life and encouraging the next generation of people of influence. He has been published extensively in magazines and newspapers and is the author of Unconditional and the bestselling The Relationships Revolution.
