Children, Youth & Family Facilitator

Chartwell Cooperating Church’s mission is ‘to know and share God’s love’ and our vision is ‘to be the hands, feet and body of Christ in the community.’ We are a diverse and inclusive parish which unites people from various Christian backgrounds.

Chartwell Cooperating Church is seeking to employ a Children, Youth & Family Facilitator to continue to grow and strengthen our youth and family programmes within the congregation and in the wider community. This person will have a strong personal faith and a willingness to support young people to explore their Christian faith and spiritual growth.

The successful applicant will have many of the following attributes:

• Experience and a passion for working with young people and children
• Experience with running events or ministries
• A willingness to participate in the Chartwell Cooperating Church community
• An energetic, approachable and confident leadership style
• Self-motivated with effective time management skills
• Strong organisational and administrational skills
• Computer and social media literacy
• Experience or knowledge of basic budgeting and health and safety
documentation

The Facilitator will work in collaboration with the ministry team to develop relationships and foster the concepts of manaakitanga and aroha.

The role is 30 hours a week with flexible hours which will start in the new year. Applications must include your CV plus a covering letter. Part Time Vacancy – Auckland

Youth Ministry Coordinator (One year contract – up to 20hr per week)

We require a creative person with a deep Christian faith and a desire to help young people grow spiritually. You will help them to learn about the Christian faith and the Bible, to develop their relationship with Jesus, to have fun with friends and express their faith in creative ways. You will lead/support existing ministries including Sunday Youth, ZED intermediate, Friday “the Pack “and Young Adults.

Community Lay Pastor

The Bucklands Beach Cooperating Parish is seeking to employ a Community Lay Pastor to lead our various initiatives in responding to the needs of our local multicultural and multigenerational community. The successful applicant will have many of the following attributes:

  • A heart for the Parish and the Bucklands Beach community
  • A strong desire to help the parish to achieve our goal of “Being the Gospel to all people”
  • Great organizational skills, capable and willing to learn.
  • Experience running events/ministries
  • Ability to work with stakeholders within the congregation and wider community to identify ministry needs
  • Experience completing Health and Safety documentation
  • Experience working with budgets and planning
  • Computer literate
  • Great relational and pastoral skills
  • Experience working with people of different ages, cultures and beliefs.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in intergenerational, early childhood, child or youth work within a Christian environment

 

The Community Lay Pastor will report to the Parish Minister and Parish Council. Initially the position is part time (20 hours per week) and is funded for one year with the strong possibility of the funding and position continuing. This is an opportunity to build a church community in a new and exciting way.

Vacancy – Wellington

St. Barnabas Church (Plimmerton Presbyterian Parish) is looking for a part-time or full-time staff member to focus on two specific and related areas of ministry on a 50/50 basis of time allocation, namely:

  • to actively lead, encourage and develop all aspects of Christian life with and for youth and their families/whanau in alignment with the St Barnabas mission plan; and
  • to be actively engaged with and in the community of northern Porirua, providing care, compassion and support to youth and their families/whanau through the Schools, sports clubs and other locations where youth gather.

PT Job Vacancy – Wellington

Four Parishes in the western area of Wellington, Wadestown Presbyterian, Ngaio Union, Khandallah Presbyterian and Johnsonville Uniting (The Hub) are looking to recruit a Youth Ministry Worker to strengthen their joint ministries of faith. This half time role will have an emphasis on ensuring the needs of young people within the community are identified and developed. Along with a call to Youth Ministry you will share the Hub vision and direction.

  • To be successful in the role it is expected you will have:
  • Experience in working with young people
  • Strong personal faith and a willingness to support young people to explore their Christian faith in a supportive environment
