Prezi is an application which makes it possible to design presentations online. It’s a unique flash based application that changes how you can create presentations. It means that you don’t need to worry about creating individual slides, you can create non linear presentations and then you can zoom in and out of a map containing all of your information.
The application is actually fairly similar to pptPlex which offers a similar type of functionality in PowerPoint. It’s difficult to explain how to use it, but it’s not difficult to use. The best way to learn how to use the software is to look at the example presentations and have a play with the system yourself. Prezi is different and so it does take some getting used to, but after a bit of practice you will find that the user interface is quite intuitive. There are also plenty of help videos which will help you to create presentations for the first time.
How to create a great prezi on Prezi
The application is designed entirely in flash and it’s a real pleasure to use. It’s quick and snappy although it can take some getting used to. This isn’t because the interface is bad, it’s actually because the concept is completely different. The tool is designed very well and has a nice interface; it just takes some time for people to get used to the idea of a presentation without having to create individual slides. It’s certainly worth it though because you get a much more engaging and interesting presentation than you would otherwise. If you are struggling to use the system at first then there are plenty of online help videos which are great to make sure you know how to use the application properly.
Prezi offer a number of different packages including a free package. The free package is known as “public license” and comes with 100MB storage space, and an offline player. All of your presentations will have the prezi logo on them and all presentations will be published publicly in the showcase. The enjoy plan has 500MB of storage space, no prezi logo and the ability to create private presentations. This plan costs €39 per year. The top of the range Pro package comes with an offline editor and 2GB of space. The Pro accounts cost €119 per year. There are also a number of other optional extras all of which cost more money.
This is a great way to create interesting and great fun presentations which are much more engaging and less boring than normal slide shows!
