The Training in Mission Programme
The Training in Mission (TIM) programme is a youth leadership development programme run by the Council for World Mission (CWM). TIM lasts seven months and is participants spend time in:
- Taiwan
- Kiribati
- New Zealand
The programme includes the following elements:
- Orientation to the programme and the local context
- Study sessions on issues related to mission and theology
- Voluntary work in church and community projects
- Team building sessions
- Evaluation
CWM is looking for young people with the following qualities:
- An Interest in exploring mission issues in an international and multicultural context
- A Commitment to and an active membership of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand
- Able to relate well with others
- Mature enough to cope with stress
- Able to spend seven months away from home
- Aged 18-30, single, not an ordained minister – Committed to sharing experiences on returning home
- In good health
Practicalities
CWM will pay for the cost of international travel, food, accommodation and tutorial expenses during TIM. CWM will also provide monthly pocket money. Clothing and book allowances will be provided as required.
